Mark Knight has a long and varied career in video game music.
He started out writing chiptune and module file music in the Amiga Demoscene, and began his games industry career as a composer in 1992 . He continued until 2000 when he moved to sound design, and since 2014 has a split role as a sound designer and composer. Mark has always been a fan of Commodore 64 music and its composers, and was a founder member of the Commodore 64 supergroup "SID80s" along with SID alumnus Ben Daglish.
SID80s' act depended very much on Mark's versatile electric violin playing for its leads, and over the course of years, he became identified with certain C64 tunes such as "Spellbound", "Arcade Classics" and "Rasputin". We're delighted to have Mark bring his charisma (and violin) to participate in a couple of tracks. Particularly poignant is his performance in "Stifflip and Co.", since Mark was great friends with its composer Richard Joseph until his untimely death in 2007. |
